The Ashley Dress is sure to be
a favorite if you are a fan of classic late 1930's and early
1940's fashions. The bodice and sleeves were modeled after a
1937 vintage pattern. The underbust (front and back) is fitted
and the skirt is a shorter version of that of our Amanda Dress
(combining bias and a-line pieces for a flattering fit). The
bodice has ruching at the top of the shoulders and is lightly
gathered at the underbust line. The sleeves are 3/4 length and
have a gathered top. The skirt is knee length. This body style
is a comfortable "work" or day dress, but certainly
can make a quick change to cocktails with the right jewelry and
heels!
