The Ashley Short Sleeve Dress
is sure to be a favorite if you are a fan of classic late 1930's
and early 1940's fashions. The bodice and sleeves were modeled
after a 1937 vintage pattern. The underbust (front and back)
is lined and topstitched. On this edition, the bodice has darts
at top of the shoulders and is lightly gathered at the underbust
line. The sleeves are cap style with a gathered top and gathered
edge and tiny piping. The skirt combines straight cut and bias
cut panels for a full a line to the knee. We call this edition
the 'Ashley Empire' as we have shortened the underbust/waist
section by 3/4" to give this a slighty raised waist when
compared to previous versions. The taller of you will hardly
notice the difference, but our petite ladies will appreciate
this modification. For this version, there are topstitched heart
shaped pockets below the shoulder darts and above the bust. VERY
CUTE when worn!
